I slept in really late today. I didn't mean to, it just kinda happened on its own. When I say really late, I mean that I woke up and got out of bed shortly before 5:00 PM. It's unsettling to wake up and find out you've been asleep for an extended period of time. I honestly wasn't trying to sleep in for so long, it's just that the perfect storm of conditions had been met:
1. Went to bed late - I got to bed between 3:30 and 4:00 this morning, I didn't intend to be up so late, but the Internet was being very distracting.
2. Already tired - I didn't get much sleep the previous night, so when I went to bed, I was extra tired.
3. No obligations, motivations - I didn't have anything to do today. I had made plans, but decided to postpone them due do the inclement weather we were supposed to (and apparently did) have today.
4. Bed comfortable, warm - when I first woke up at 11:00 AM, it was very easy for me to doze off again.
5. Grey, rainy day outside - I'm not sure exactly what it is, but when it's really overcast and rainy like today, I feel tired and lethargic when I wake up. This also made it easier to fall back into sleep.
I really need to get my sleep schedule back on track. I've been meaning to do that for a while now, but I just haven't gotten around to doing it. Sometimes, if we're going the wrong way, we just need it to be pointed out. Other times, we need some event that serves to slap us in the face and forces us to realize that we cannot carry on in this way.
