I recently had a strange dream. Well, the dream itself was rather ordinary (at least as far as dreams go, and certainly compared to some of the dreams I've had in the past). I should mention that I recently replaced the clock-radio I have with a newer model (the old one had a radio and cassette tape player, neither of which worked anymore).
In my dream, the old clock-radio was back in place on top of a short bookcase, along with two others just like it. The newer one was over on my desk, which is on the other side of the room. The clocks showed that it was very late (or early) - about 2-3 AM. I knew that I went to bed at 11 PM, and so it was unlikely that a switch had actually been made (considering the short time frame, and that I hadn't wakened). I strongly suspect that this whole thing is just a dream and try to wake myself by punching my arm and biting my hand; while these actions do hurt, they do not bring about waking.
As it turns out, I was right in that it was just a dream, and that no one had switched my clock-radios around. However, I am left feeling unsettled by the whole experience. For the most part, I don't remember my dreams. On the 1-in-100 occasion that I do remember, I remember just going along with it, because it makes perfect sense at the time. I simply can't tell that I am dreaming.
So far, counting this one, I have only had two dreams in which I realized I was dreaming. And in each case, I was unable to wake myself up. So far, it is just coincidence. If it happens a third time though, then it is a pattern.
