An Open Letter to My Partner on the Dog-Leg Indicator Part

[Name], I've tried being patient with you, but I'm done. I can't keep going on like this. I have been working solely on this part for the last three weeks now, and as a direct result, my other projects are suffering. I keep trying and trying to make it work, and all the while, you do nothing.

I'm going to put it simply: I don't trust you to get the job done, nor can I trust you to do so. On Wednesday, at the end of class, you said that if I needed anything, I should just ask. The next day, you didn't show up for the entire morning. You finally got in at, what, 1:00 PM? What I need is for you to BE there, for starters, and you can't even do THAT!

Your attendance is deplorable. You aren't here half the time; you show up late, or you don't show up at all. I can count, on one hand, the number of times you have been on time for our first class this semester, and I wouldn't need all my fingers to do so. How, exactly, am I to ask you for anything, if you aren't even around for me to do the asking?

I am at my wit's end. Last quarter, you said you would try to help out more. If anything, you've been helping out LESS. Know that when peer-evaluation comes around, I will make my displeasure known. As it stands now, I've been flip-flopping on what grade to give you. There's the nice-guy-me that wants to be understanding (I don't know what's going on in your life), and would give you a D. There's also the totally-frustrated-me that is of the opinion that since you screwed me over, I'm going to return the favor with an F.

If you're really serious about helping me, then take over. I'll hand over the fixture I've been using and the stock pieces I cut. I'll e-mail you the program I wrote. I'll even give you the over-sized parts that came out early on (they aren't to size, but if the side flaps were to be filed down, they might be passable).

I am willing to do that. What I'm not willing to do is put up with this bull**** anymore. I've been trying to get these parts made. What have you been doing?
