It has been...quite an eventful year. I'm sure that most (if not all) of us are eager to put 2020 behind us. Still, there is one thing that I wish would follow us into the future. Flash (the internet platform, not the superhero) will no longer be supported after December 2020...so, tomorrow.
I've spent a lot of time playing games online that relied on Flash, and now it's all going away. As of this posting, I currently am a member of the gaming website Kongregate. Over 10 years a member, over 2400 badges earned in that time. Unfortunately, something like 95% of the games on Kongregate use Flash, and so will no longer be playable.
What does this mean for the site itself? I don't want to speculate, as I will likely just depress myself. Still, it cannot be overlooked that no new badges have been added since June. Is this a sign of things to come? Perhaps.
Still, life moves forward, and we must move forward with it. What was once cutting-edge becomes hopelessly outdated. Try to keep up as best you can...
